Relatives: Emperor J'Son (paternal grandfather)- living, Peter Quill (father, living), Katherine "Kitty" Pryde (mother, living)
Abilities:
Expert Pilot- Bobby has flown with both of his parents since before he could walk.
Tactician- Bobby's helped his father run a number of confidence games in several systems. Bobby later expanded on this knowledge to start his own smuggling ring.
Interstellar Traveller- He has extensive knowledge of a number of alien cultures and languages (due to spending time in a few different jails), and is fluent in the royal and standard languages of the Shi'ar and Skrull, as well as English, Russian. He can pray in Hebrew and is conversational in German.
Criminal Knowledge & Escape Artist- Bobby is a proficient smuggler and thief, well versed at confidence games. He can pick locks and has worked against and defeated several alien security systems. He's also spent time in lock-up more than once and escaped from a couple of prisons as well. He's the ins and outs of the black markets of the cosmos and knows of the major smuggling rings and space pirates in the cosmos.
Computer Aptitude- Kitty taught him computer science, mostly hacking. He has advanced knowledge of computer software and aerospace systems, but no degree in these fields. He has created his own A.I. named "Lockheed", named after his mom's pet dragon of awesome.
Hand to-Hand Combat- He able to engage two opponents at one time with little difficulty.
Marksmanship- Bobby is also a good marksman but not as good as his father. He wields his father's element gun and a Kree laser-pistol.
Enhanced Attributes- Bobby has slightly enhanced strength, speed and durability due to his one-quarter Spartax Heritage. He can bench 400 lbs with no issue and exert himself for 90 minutes before fatigue sets in. He is also resistant to terrestrial sickness and diseases due to his time in space.
Weaknesses and Flaws: Bobby has a temper and can be goaded into doing something dumb from time to time. He takes risks when he doesn't have to in order to prove to himself and others that he's not just "Star-Lord's kid". He's inexperienced and working with a team, but may learn to do so in time.
Bobby can still be injured or killed by bullets, knives, etc. as he is three-quarters human.Personality: Bobby is a nice guy most of the time, but he can be snarky especially when he thinks he's right. He's used to handling things on his own and has trouble with teamwork. He's loyal to his friends and will fight to death and beyond for them.
He's an incorrigible flirt and likes pretty women, but he has difficulty relating to many humans as he's spent most of his life in space. On Earth, he's one guy out of seven billion humans. In space, he's...well, he's not one guy out of seven billion. He's an oddity and an outlaw and that gives him a sense of purpose.
Backstory: When your father is the legendary Star-Lord, you have a lot to live up to. When your mother is a mutant warrior like Shadowcat, that's another big set of boots to step into. When both of them are your parents...it feels like you'll never be your own person.
Robert Carmen Quill, often called Bobby by his parents, was born on the Blue Area of the Moon to Peter Quill and Kitty Pryde. His parents each had their own heroic lives long before he came into the picture as they were both warriors in their childhoods. A chance encounter between the Guardians of the Galaxy and the X-Men led to the start of a long-distance relationship over holo-vids between the pair.
Kitty was initially hesitant to get involved with someone again, especially since she had bad luck with men named "Peter" but Star-Lord persisted and the pair got together anytime he was on Earth. Peter was in a middle of a fire-fight with the Badoon when Kitty dropped the pregnancy bombshell. Wanting the family that he was denied in his youth, Quill concluded his business and returned to Earth to collect Kitty.
Peter and Kitty roamed the cosmos in his Ship and grew closer, and they are still good friends today. Kitty was adamant, however, that her son would not be named "Peter" and settled on Robert, instead, for her old friend Robert "Bobby" Drake.
Bobby learned to fly from both of his parents and lived a different life than most Earth children. His father taught him about thievery and tricks while his mother taught him about computers and told him stories of her friends from back home. When Bobby turned five, Kitty took him back to Earth, wanting their son to be able to relate to human beings as well as other aliens. Peter fought to convince her otherwise, but eventually relented.
Peter visited again when Bobby turned ten. This time, Bobby pleaded with Kitty to spend more time with his old man. The pair enjoyed several adventures and he learned of his royal heritage on his father's side. Bobby grew to love space because of his father's reputation and because humans were a rarity on many planets.
When Bobby turned sixteen, Peter learned that having a son who follows in your footsteps isn't always a good thing. Bobby's done stints in penal colonies and escaped. He's also had to get bailed out by his father and chewed out by his mother. Kitty's wanted Bobby to come home for a few years but he's resisted, not wanting to go back to Earth and be "just another human" on a planet full of them.
Bobby started stealing a few years ago, mostly from the rich, and giving to the poor. He thumbs his nose at authority and now butts head with Peter over the meaning of being a good man. Both of his parents taught him heroism as well, but Bobby secretly feels that he'll never measure up to either of them. He's not a mutant and he'll never be the legendary Star-Lord, so he searches the cosmos for a place to belong.
Plans: I'd like to bring him into the game to meet the Future Foundation and some of the other cosmic heroes as he knows who they are. I have an idea for a cosmic plot involving the Cosmic Cube and stopping a space war. He hasn't been home in seven years when he crashes on Earth.Once that's over, he might stick around on Earth for a bit (depending on how mad his mother is), but he's been thinking about putting together a team. But he's taking it one day at a time right now.

"Yeah," she agreed. "Who's your dad, anyway?"

"His name is Peter Quill. Some people call him Star-Lord, though."

If this was Rigel-9, though...
"No big deal, though. By the way, I totally dig the hair. It takes a special someone to pull off green hair. You rock it pretty well."

"Well, you know," she said, "it matched the rest of me. I used to do blonde sometimes when I go human, but these days I just stick with green."

But, alas, it was not to be." Bobby said.
"So who else in this Future Foundation with you? You mentioned a Doc Power. Do they come around here...or did you sneak me to your place for the Skrull-babe talent show?" he asked.

"They're probably around here somewhere. But I, ah, volunteered to be on hand for when you work up."

"And here I was hoping for Skrull-babe funtimes." he said.
He shrugged.
"Well, you did a great job watching over Sleeping Spaceman, Mary Storm. Only way it could have been better is if you woke me with a kiss. But we just met, so I forgive you." he teased.
She listed off the people in this Future Foundation and, while Bobby didn't know any of the names off the top of his head, he was pretty sure they were important. Speaking of which.
"Well, I don't suppose we can find out about my ship? Because there's something kind of important I need to do. If it doesn't happen, well...the universe kind of goes bye-bye. I don't think anyone wants that so...where are my things?" he asked.

"Well, you know... there might be time for that later," she said.
"Yeah, we can go check it out," Mary added. "And we put what we would in a storage cube. We can pick it up on the way."
Realization dawned. "Wait, go back to the part about the universe. Because that's where I keep my stuff."

Here's a hint. Skrull-babe funtimes is a major draw." Bobby grinned.
